Taos Pueblo / Tierra Lucero classes

Tierra Lucero works with Taos Pueblo children and youth, teaching both traditional and modern organic gardening techniques. Students:

Learn how to plant traditional corn, beans and squash
Study greenhouses, micro-irrigation, and other modern growing methods
Take part in the entire food cycle: planting, tending and harvesting
Learn the basic principles of Permaculture and sustainable design

Tierra Lucero is honored to be working on the Taos Pueblo since 2002 on a variety of agricultural projects. Our “Memorandum of Understanding” allows for continued collaboration toward a shared vision of renewed sustainability and health for the Pueblo.
Our work has included:
